Routes
Pieces in the Routes series are generated from Google Street View images
along a route between two points provided by the Google Directions API.
The image represents the number of pixels in each image belonging to color
groups selected by clustering, possibly smoothed and reordered. The
result not only evokes a typical landscape along the route, but can also be
read left to right as the documentation of a journey.
Oregon, Zion and Manhattan were exhitbited as part of the 2019 Joint
Statistical Meetings Data Art Show in Denver, CO.
